"Unusual versions": Ura.ru editorial board issues official statement amid searches

The editorial staff of the Ura.ru agency issued an official statement in light of the searches that took place on Thursday, June 5.

According to the editors, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stopped the work of the agency's head office and blocked the work of the editorial staff.

It is noted that in the Sverdlovsk region, searches are also being conducted in the apartments of several journalists of the local editorial office. Investigative bodies are finding out where the information about criminal incidents in the region came from.

— The editorial staff's journalists read publications in various Telegram channels with the most unusual and outlandish versions of the reasons for the search. There is no talk of any funding for doctors or other situations, — the Telegram channel Ura.ru reports.

The incident became known on the morning of Thursday, June 5: searches began in the office of the Ura.ru news agency in Yekaterinburg. It is reported that the searches may be related to the activities of journalists and their interaction with sources of information. In addition, two employees of the agency's editorial office were detained in Yekaterinburg.
